"Grand Slam in 1998"

   It was October 1998 and the show season was about to begin!  Taking the trip to Louisville, Ky in the fall of the year is always a joy.  I was elated to walk away with the Young Bird National Champion. URC 98 M 806 Blue Check hen had defeated 207 Baldhead Rollers under the judging of Chad Guell.

     One month later here in my home state of Wisconsin,  #806's nest mate sister, URC 98 M 807 was crowned "State Champion!"  She won out over 103 other Balds under the skilled eye of  judge Barry Wegner.

     The ABRC All Age National was  held in Des Moines, Iowa.  What ever the odds may be, which must  really be quite high, another sister was crowned "Old Bird National Champion", URC 97 M 779 . Bill "Doc" Koenig picked her out of 170 Baldheads competing.  This being something really special for anyone, I had to call them the "Supremes!"
